the result's already determined!
ahh!
how exciting! im actually quite hyped up about the result.
hmmm.
this is quite unusual, i always thought i was quite politically apathetic.
but now i realise im not.
all through today (in between doing maths and studying bio)
i was looking out my room window
towards the school just behind my house
(the school and my house's separated by one fence)
which, incidentally was a polling station.
(oh i live in aljunied btw, which has the most exciting competition)
so anw throughout the day i was watching people going to cast their vote
some people went the wrong way despite like ticker tape and signs. xP
anw, i must talk about the wp rally yesterday too
it was at serangoon stadium, which is near, but not too near my house
and there were SO MANY PEOPLE
the whole place was conjested, and the traffic jam extended all the way up till the CTE
to the exit where we always take coming back from toa payoh.
it was the kind of jam where even if the traffic light's green the cars arent moving.
gosh.
then when i went to see the doctor, which was also near my house,
the roads were like blocked cuz cars were parked virtually everywhere.
goodness. it was packed.
and when my parents wanted to go to the petrol station to buy stuff, they couldnt go out cuz the main road outside my house was totally blocked too.
and i heard that the stadium was so full, there was no more sitting space and some people even had to stand outside.
hmmm.
i wonder if wp will really get this much support or its just coz people are kaypoh
opposition rallies are always more interesting to listen to anyway
esp with the high chance that they might say something silly and illogical.
but i shant comment further.
haha.
hope PAP wins! heh heh.
as you can see, im a pro-PAP person.
but thats cuz i'll never vote (if i could la) for an opposition party who can only put down the ruling party in their political broadcasts.
i mean the whole point is to promote your party!
tell people what you can do for them and our country, not use 'underhand' tactics like criticising the ruling party.
and even if they want to criticize, they should actually stop and reflect, could they really have done a better job?
ruling a country is not just about building covered walkways and upgrading lifts, thats just domestic affairs.
its much wider than that.
it takes alot to rule a country.
some of the brochures from opposition parties i've read don't even use perfect English.
sure, opposition parties can talk alot about how life will be alot better with them instead of the PAP, they can promise a whole lot of stuff, but at the end of the day, can they deliver those promises?
if you ask me, i'd rather back the party who has brought Singapore so far, who turned a country with no natural resources and which many doubted would survive, into what we are today.
even if you dont approve of everything the PAP does, of certain policies, shouldnt you stop and think, can the opposition parties meet the mark? can they do even better than the PAP?
regarding that point, im actually quite doubtful.
they lack the experience, and they have nothing to prove so far.
that's why i'd rather not take the risk.
things are fine just the way they are, why change them?
so i say, support the PAP!
haha. ok i realise its rather abit late to say that.
but anw, i was just expressing my views.
even though i think that sounded kinda extreme, like im at a rally or sth.
HAHA.
oh well.
just have to wait for the result show tonight i guess.
but im gonna be extremely unhappy if PAP doesnt win in Aljunied.
